The Tracks

There are two tracks - The Socio-Economic Inclusion Track and the Open Track. Each track comes with a number of use cases you can choose from. You will only need to submit a solution tackling one of the use cases below.

Eligibility

You need to be at least 18 years of age or older.

Requirements

What to submit

For a sussesful submission, you only need to submit two things:

  1. A deck explaining your prototype/solution
  2. A Git repository with the code for your solution (along with good documentation)

Optionally, you can also submit a video.

During the submission process, apart from the points mentioned above, you will not need to fill out anything else

Submission Guidelines

You are expected to submit a prototype which is

  • Relevant to the problem statement mentioned 
  • Solves one of the the use cases here
  • Uses blockchain technology
Git Repository

You need to submit your solution as a public Git repository.It could be hosted on any platform like Github, Bitbucket, Gitlab, etc, and must be publicly accessible

Slide Deck

You also need to submit a slide deck (Powerpoint/Keynote/Google Slides) for your solution. This can be uploaded to Google Drive or Dropbox (with a publicly accessible link), and the link to the deck needs to be in the README of the Github repo. This deck will talk more about the solution you have built, your idea/concept and why you chose to solve this part of the process specifically. Required points to be included in the deck as follows (we suggest to keep your deck brief, 1 slide per point, 5 slides in total):

  • Introduction - An introduction to your company & team.
  • Use case of choice - Explain the use case that you have chosen and why you have chosen it.
  • Solution - Articulate the idea and your strategy for solving the problem.
  • Technology - What makes your prototype special? What technologies will you utilize and why?
  • Scaling - How can your prototype be scaled to serve the needs of the millions of people who need to be included in the new world order? How can the RSK+RIF ecosystem benefit from your solution? How can you benefit from RSK+RIF protocol, tools, and libraries?
Socio-Economic Inclusion Track

For the Socio-Economic Inclusion track, you are encouraged to use one of the RSK technologies. Although this is not a requirement, you will be eligle for a larger prize pool. You can find more info about RSK technologies here.

We encourage you to deploy your Smart Contracts on the RSK Testnet. Deployment of working smart contracts onto an RSK public network will add to the score of your submission. 

Deadline

Please submit the final repository including documentation by or before 8th November.

Judging Criteria

  • For your slide deck - Impact
    How innovative is your solution? Is there an established solution that already solves the same problem? Were you able to engineer a novel solution towards an unsolved problem? Be creative.
  • For your slide deck - Expertise
    Our judges will also evaluate your domain-level knowledge of the subject matter and technology you are proposing.
  • For your slide deck - Implementation
    Our judges will evaluate how well your solutions can be implemented in a real-world scenario and review if your implementation strategy is flawless and likely to succeed.
  • For your slide deck - Presentation
    Try to explain in your solution in a simple way, using short bullet points. Try to create a nice looking deck.
  • For your prototype - Code Quality
    How well does the code conform to the functional specifications and requirements of a project? Structural quality, which relates to the maintainability and robustness of the code.
  • For your prototype - Readability
    Code readability refers to the way in which you write the code which is easy to understand, follows standard naming conventions, is consistent and can be grasped by anyone reading it, right from a novice programmer to an expert.
  • For your prototype - Scalability
    Code is easily extensible, has fewer and cleaner dependencies, reduced coupling & more cohesive abstractions. Your codebase and solution can be extended from a small prototype to something that can be used by millions of people.
  • For your prototype - Applicability
    The code you are writing is applicable to this particular use case of socio-economic inclusion and also solves one of the potential use cases. Solution cannot be too generic, it needs to conform to the requirements given above and be applied readily.
  • For your prototype - Security and Reliability
    Incase of blockchain application, especially something that is dealing with actual cryptocurrencies & money, the solution proposed and the code should be secure & reliable. Lapses in standard security protocols will be penalized during scoring.
  • For your prototype - User experience
    Is it a desirable prototype? How easy is it to interact with the solution?
